Remember all the funny stories about people following their GPS directions into strange and sometime dangerous areas? I recently ran across an article that similarly illustrates people’s blind trust in what technology tells them. A man in Houston happens to live at a location that certain iPhones seem to think they go to when lost. He has recorded multiple instances of strangers using the “Find My Phone” feature showing up at his house and demanding he return their lost device. For the moment it’s just a frustratingly funny quirk in Apple’s technology, but it’s not hard to imagine how this could take a serious turn. Read the whole article here.
